What is Teachmeet?
TeachMeet is a chance for us to share what has and is effective, exciting and innovative technology in our schools in an informal environment.
Those of us who have attended Teachmeets before have found them to be inspirational and a great form of CPD.
You may want to look at previous TEACHMEETS, in particular the national event @ BETT.
Look also @ Nicholas Hughes' Youtube video that he took @ this event, these two links should give you a flavour of what we are striving
for on May the 19th.
If you come for the evening, then you can either present (see below), or just lisetn to inspiring presentations on ICT in our schools.
In the main hall @ Redbridge Teachers Centre follow this link for a map. .
5:30- 6:00pm - Entry Time
You must arrive and register between these times, space is limted and you may not get in after 6, though you can leave at any time!!
6:00- 9:30-pm Teachmeet North East London
Early evening drinks, snacks, innovation
If you can not get to the venue for 5:30, then please email me
There will also be a online broadcast of the event via Flashmeeting. See further down for details.
Unlike the Redbridge ICT Conference that is taking place during the day, this event was an unconference:
Anyone involved in education. You do not have to be an adviser or coordinator, in fact we'd prefer to hear from those that are actually doing it in the classroom. This event is for both primary and secondary.
You can come along to linger, loiter, contribute, chat, meet new people, or give a talk.
*
You can show short video clips or images of technology in your school, but please no Powerpoints.

We will be using txttools - the home of edutxt, to send and receive the answers to these and other questions on the evening. This exciting application has been used successfully at events and conferences, including those hosted by Stephen Heppell. txttools will enable you to text an answer to a question, send your opinions or ideas discretely and anonomously - without having to wait for a roving microphone. Its a lot of fun so give it a go.
If you want to pre regsiter your name and number for the event, then text :
TM space your name space and a message to 88020.
Numbers will only be used to respond to you at Teachmeet and inbound texts are charged at your normal network rate - if you have free text bundles and credit available the inbound messages will be free.
Join the event via Flashmeeting (online conference)
There will be a Flashmeeting running for the duration of the TeachMeet. You can join in virtually at http://flashmeeting.e2bn.net/fm/759b1f-3229 between 5.30pm and 10pm. You will be able to interact with others in the Flashmeeting via the chat facility at the same time as watching the presentations. There may be the possibility to ask questions of those at the event, and during breaks to interact with some of the presenters/audience.
You can test your connection to the Flashmeeting at any time by clicking on the link above. Further technical details are at http://flashmeeting.e2bn.net/help.html. On the night, please click on 'Enter meeting as a guest' ie you don't need a log-in. The Flashmeeting is subject to good connectivity on the night.
